Can you lock the trigger in any position or only when fully depressed?

It’s nice to see Kobalt making corrections/upgrades on their tools based on feedback. Hopefully that dampener on the back end will help prevent batteries getting stuck. I’m on my third gen 1 multi tool because the batteries kept getting stuck on them.

The auto hammer if released by kobalt will be a game changer

Do you think they will sell this version as tool only at some point rather than full kit?

I don’t know the engineering behind the OPMs, but it seems gen 2 has less opm compared to the gen 1. In turn, it has a greater angle degree of 3.6 as opposed to 1.8 with gen 1. They did something similar with Skil where the brushless 18v had 17K OPM and 12v with 18K OPM.

I am debating if I should get this. I need one strictly for drywall use and just keep my other oscillating tools for fine work. I have been keeping an eye on that head as I think the Flex depth attachment might be compatible with it. Edit: I finally received this and have been using it for the past 2 days doing teardowns and this is by far the best oscillating tool I have used that uses variable trigger. I own the Flex and the Milwaukee Fuel versions and I have to say this is my favorite so far (I hate to say it, but that’s how I feel about the tool).

How’s the 8ah ultimate output battery? I was thinking about buying it

  15. Hammer Hearter on September 20, 2022 at 4:49 pm

when are you going to show us that 8.0 battery in action. Their 4.0 UO battery is not very good with demanding tasks. Wished Kobalt/Chervon did something about it. I am also starting to think they are not very good in colder climates as I left my EGO batteries out in the cold and it’s giving me the blinking that something is wrong despite being fully charged. I do want to pick up an 8.0 just for the miter saw since I already have 2 6.0s for it.

How is the volume on this compared to the Gen 1?

  17. David Curtis on September 20, 2022 at 4:54 pm

Would you recommend getting this if you already have gen 1 or is it just an upgrade for when the gen 1 eventually craps the bed

  18. Chris mcmichen on September 20, 2022 at 4:55 pm

At this point I’m convinced you work for Kobalt 🤪All of the new tools still say "Out of stock" at my Lowes. Guess you’ll be the first to review the nailer when its released. Looks like they modeled this after the Skil and Flex Oscillating tools. Another great video!

You mentioned the two radios at the beginning of the video. The gen 1 isn’t actually a radio, its just a bluetooth speaker. Might be why both are still shown.
