Lets say the stock already is on the SSR for today and then goes down additional 10%+ pre market on yesterdays close does that then mean it will be on SSR for tommorrow friday?
    Thanks in advance, much appreciated!

  2. James Brown on September 19, 2022 at 7:58 pm

Thanks Ross, another great educational video! In Das trader these stocks are labeled as SSR

  3. Cole Sinclair on September 19, 2022 at 7:59 pm

Great video im still confused on one thing though, only example i got is today GME crashed 10% to 238 so we were added to the ssr list. Does that only count for today or does this go into effect for tomorrow as well?

  4. Bruce Reynolds on September 19, 2022 at 7:59 pm

    Thanks Ross. I needed this.

  8. Julieta Pompo-Lewis on September 19, 2022 at 8:02 pm

    Awesome explanation, thank you!

  9. K AT on September 19, 2022 at 8:06 pm

Do stocks usually go higher the next day after triggering SSR? Do they gap up?

  10. Beltrancho on September 19, 2022 at 8:08 pm

    Concise explanation. Thanks Ross.

  11. Andrew 1059 on September 19, 2022 at 8:09 pm

    I’m absolutely new to this.
    Might not be asking correctly.

Say a stock is on SSR on a Monday, a rookie trader can possibly jump on thinking its a good stock then take heavy losses after the restriction is lifted for the rest of the week correct?

  12. p funk on September 19, 2022 at 8:09 pm

Thanks for getting to the point. I understand this much better now.

  13. C N on September 19, 2022 at 8:10 pm

  15. imohamme5 on September 19, 2022 at 8:13 pm

Does every penny stock have the SSR rule? Or is this rule only for some stocks?

  16. Jeff on September 19, 2022 at 8:13 pm

Can I just start a long when ssr is active?

  17. wlcsp on September 19, 2022 at 8:13 pm

Ross, if I want to sell short a stock in SSR mode, how do I define a good ask price ?

  18. Kathi Duran on September 19, 2022 at 8:14 pm

So AMC is on ssr list so should go up tomorrow rignt?

  19. Björn Gustafsson on September 19, 2022 at 8:15 pm

Does the SSR go into effect even given pre and after market trading figures for next days trading?

  20. Renzo Purevdorj on September 19, 2022 at 8:16 pm

If SSR is a thing, how come there are stocks that fall 60-70%? Shouldn`t the price be contained in the -10% area when SSR is triggered?

  21. Justin Brodie on September 19, 2022 at 8:19 pm

    Did this rule recently change?

  22. Kingj42j on September 19, 2022 at 8:21 pm

Who’s here trying to learn. AMC to the moon

  23. Psycho on September 19, 2022 at 8:22 pm

    Thank you Warrior

  24. Paulli on September 19, 2022 at 8:24 pm

Is there any limit on the uptick? Like if it moves $0,01 up is it considered uptick?

  25. BRM3KBTR82ATIGER on September 19, 2022 at 8:25 pm

So many people get this one wrong! Most think: no shorting at all. WRONG! TY Ross!

  26. CuttySlayer on September 19, 2022 at 8:25 pm

0:38 "There is no such thing as a long buy restriction where you can’t buy a stock as it’s going up"… 2021 hold my beer.. $AMC $GME

  27. pujadasDeep Water assurerDean on September 19, 2022 at 8:25 pm

Hi Ross I’m in the starter program. In my short time in the program I’ve seen lots of stocks on the momo or gap scanner that have traded for years at some low amount, but the day it’s on the scanner it’s trading at 3x 4x it usual amount. How often do these stocks just end up trading close to their original amount? Is shorting these stocks a good strategy?

  28. Jsteel03 on September 19, 2022 at 8:28 pm

    SLS boys here

  29. mark brown on September 19, 2022 at 8:29 pm

Is the 10% drop rule just for speed trader? I’m with Td and they have the uptick rule but it doesn’t say only if it goes down a certain percentage.. so does that mean the uptick rule would apply in all circumstances?

  30. Giant Human on September 19, 2022 at 8:30 pm

Ross is brilliant and humble, and I respect his teachings. If you are going to do his webinar in the link above to get the free download for the ebook, be aware that it is a three hour webinar and half of that is promotion for the Warrior Day Trading program

  31. Dieselman on September 19, 2022 at 8:30 pm

So of its triggers you can short

  32. BigORat on September 19, 2022 at 8:33 pm

If a stock is trading at $50/share at close of day,
then after close has a earnings report, and the stock drops 20% to $40/share in after hours trading,
when does the uptick start? Can it start in after hours trading?
Or does the uptick rule start on market open?
And I would like to know when the uptick rule comes off?
What I’d like to know is when exactly does it start, and when exactly does it end?

  33. chris stevens on September 19, 2022 at 8:34 pm

    fantastic as always.

  34. Fm14 on September 19, 2022 at 8:34 pm

Hey Ross, thanks for this video. I have a question for you – is it better to use a hotkey with price Bid+0.01 or price Ask? thanks!

  35. Brad C on September 19, 2022 at 8:35 pm

Does this apply to buying puts?

  36. DJ John Piazza on September 19, 2022 at 8:36 pm

Hi Ross – Will the SSR rule ever prevent me from taking a long position as a stock is surging into a halt?

I wasn’t able to get a few orders filled today as the stock initially pegged going up with the asking price.

I’m new to LightSpeed so I’m making micro adjustments from what I was used to in the WT sim.

In the sim there seemed to be 15 seconds after a stock pegged moving upward that I could still enter a position before being locked out.

I’m not sure if the SSR rule applies here however I thought it would be best to ask. With LS once a stick pegs for just a second, I seem to be locked out.

    Any thoughts?

    Many Thanks!

  37. KING on September 19, 2022 at 8:37 pm

Ross appreciate the information but I notice u said if a stock is down 10% then the SSR is turned on, what if it’s down only 3%, 5%, 7% etc … ? Basically any percentage less then 10%. Can u short?

  38. Antonio Martinez on September 19, 2022 at 8:37 pm

So tomorrow AMC gets an ssr so this is an amazing thing correct? To the moon!

  39. Tina on September 19, 2022 at 8:39 pm

    Thanks Ross!!!!

  40. Nicholas Gallegos on September 19, 2022 at 8:41 pm

I totally thought SSR meant no shorting at all! Fortunately I don’t short often in general anyway but now that I know this, it’s making me realize I need to go get up to speed on how to properly short b/c I’ve apparently had it very wrong. lol

  41. Wambli Robideau on September 19, 2022 at 8:43 pm

How long dose a see last

  42. devin200611 on September 19, 2022 at 8:45 pm

As it probably sucks for trading this is probably a really good rule for our economy. Keep greedy people from crashing the market as easy

  43. Rory Alderton on September 19, 2022 at 8:47 pm

U get trading halts on the upside though, they don’t happen on the downside

  44. Chris Phillips on September 19, 2022 at 8:47 pm

Hey Ross, so every stock is subject to this rule?

  45. iixnullxii1 on September 19, 2022 at 8:51 pm

I’m learning as much as I can about trading before I enter day trading on a regular basis. Your videos are very valuable to me, and I thank you. I’m thinking about specializing in going short, since every time I go long the bottom falls out and the stock tanks.

  46. Angry Joker on September 19, 2022 at 8:53 pm

So its a good thing when a stock is SSR

  47. Miguel Cardenas on September 19, 2022 at 8:53 pm

"It closed just under 4 dollars so it needed to drop 10%, and today the lowest price was 4.50 " where is the 10% drop here? Your explanation doesn’t go in hand with the conditions of when SSR is triggered. I think what really triggered it (in BTAI) was the previous day not the day you are looking at.

You should clarify this, thank you

  48. My Collection on September 19, 2022 at 8:53 pm

DOES SSR APPLY TO REGULAR STOCK OR OPTION STOCK AS WELL? THANK YOU

  49. Piero Ladhur on September 19, 2022 at 8:54 pm
